Still effective. Just can't be stupidly spammed on recharge. Actually, I haven't tested if I could spam it on recharge. My build using it still worked perfectly though. Hurt a little bit more on the energy side, but it wasn't build breaking.

I just went and capped this last week as all who said how great it was as compared to Punishing Shot.I would say with little invested in expertise as mine is 10 with 14 in Marks and 7 in WS.I don't know if it will cost more but Punishing is 10e as well and doesn't cost me to much only thing is I get +60 damage out of it.

run 14 expertise
it's still good, however bit expensive for just using it to apply poison on someone with a blocking skill

To be honest i've never really found Punishing Shot to be that useful.
Fair enough you get some bonus unconditional damage, but there are more better elites out there and I can think of at least 5 bow skills that I would put on my bar before PShot.
So i dont think there's any trouble of it being replaced by PShot.
Anywho, I think it will still work but it will just take a little more skill, which will, I suppose, weed out the poorer players who were feeding off its imbalancedness (its a word). If you think about it [skill=text]Burning Arrow[/skill] is also a 10 energy bow skill elite that is ever popular and easily manageable so I dont think it should take that drastic a hit, but like its been pointed out in this thread, it wont be the spam happy skill it once was, but imo, this is for the best.

It's still unblockable, still causes skill lockdown, and still only has 5r.
It's still disgustingly powerful, you just can't spam it like a retard anymore.

I hope your not referring to me. People spam it mindlessly because they suck and hope they hit something instead of thinking about it.

I really don't feel all that bad for it now as I feel what it was doing to Monks.

work [skill]Expert Focus[/skill] into your bar.
At 14 exp Magebane will cost 2e.
Yes you loose Apply Poison, Which means something else needs to come out to add in
[skill]Poison Tip Signet[/skill] but hey, that costs zero e so now your energy managment improves even more.

4 actually which is the same as without [wiki]Expert Focus[/wiki]... 14 expertise means a 4*14=56% reduction, 10-2= 8 and (1-0.56)*8=3.52 rounded to 4.
14 expertise is the least useful setting for expertise when using Expert Focus and 10E skills.

The change is nearly meaningless, except the people that cried the most can't cry now. The higher cost means that if I am maintaining upkeep on holy viel, I will eventually run down, but prolly not fast enough for most ppls liking (and I always ran Poison signet instead of apply w/ magebane, it just goes better with interrupt strategy)
Since people hate the spam factor so bad, I really want to try a build with Magebane, Distracting, and Determined together....if I see ppl blocking then I could really show them spam....throw a zealous bow in the mix to bring the 4e and 2e (at 14 expert) skill costs down even more....hmmmm.

Any decent ranger is running 14 expertise in pvp anyway. 4 energy for a super imba skill is still low. And to the guy who says punishing shot is better... you prefer some damage over unblockable? I wonder when people will realize that your damage as a ranger doesnt matter.
